Really, Greg Oden!

So I'm trying to be a Blazers fan now that I'm living in Portland, and I hope their first game isn't a sign of things to come. The much anticipated debut of Greg Oden ended after he tweaked his foot 3-minutes into the game. After missing his entire rookie year, he couldn't even make 1-quarter without getting hurt.

If you can't make it through 1-quarter, maybe you should try another profession. If you've have three injuries before you complete 5-minutes of regular season play, perhaps you're not worth the hype. I'm just saying maybe the savior of Blazers basketball shouldn't be wrapped up into a 7-foot scarecrow that has trouble staying on his feet.

I'm not jumping off the P-Town bandwagon, but I think I'll have a little more leg room as everyone else makes their exit.

First off, I think everyone is overreacting a little to the Oden situation. I feel bad for the guy, you know he's as disappointed as anyone that he got injured. The game against the Spurs, he looked absolutely pitifully sad sitting on the sidelines the whole game. Plus, can we just credit the fact that there are a lot of great, not just good players on the team this year besides Oden. I am just as excited a fan, without a doomsday senario, if Oden is injured. And, lets not forget Blazer fans (including Lucas) that we should be in this for the long haul. No one said this would be the year, that more likely they will do well, but just be gearing up for the years to come. They are still a young team, who need to gain some experience, and learn to work together. That's not to say they might still rock it this year, and I am hopeful and excited. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.
