A Man's Man.

American icon Charlton Heston died this weekend at the age of 84. The Oscar winning actor dominated the silver screen in films like Ben Hur and Planet of the Apes. He gave us the line “Soylent Green is people! People!” and “Take your stinking paws off me, you damned dirty ape.” But some his most memorable work came later on in his life when he became the championing voice of the NRA. Now, those promoting gun control might actually get Heston’s gun.

Heston was as stoic as they come, both on and off the screen. Of course, he also never shied away from controversy. He never apologized for his stance on issues and that has to be commended. Omega Man, I salute you. Thanks for being a man’s man, whether it was right or wrong.

People smack sometimes but I have seen more entertaining movies with Charlton Heston than most other actors in the history of cinema. My serious recommendation is The Greatest Show on Earth. It's about the circus and I used to watch it with my Grandma as a kid. It is a Cecil B. DeMille Epic with Heston and Jimmy Stewart. Watch It.

Not a big Heston fan myself. Although his appearance in "Bowling for Columbine" was pretty badass.

I'm waiting for a blog about the dudes who scaled the golden gate. As the young folk would say: "that shit is bomb."

Yes, my blogging has been lacking lately. We're moving office space, so I have to do work from home, etc. Don't worry, in a week I'll be back to normal.

You also have to realize that Heston acted in a time when melodrama was at a premium. There was no such thing as tone it down.
